Our yoga and pilates class philosophy
Whether you’re interested in yoga or pilates for physical fitness, psychological fitness (or both!) our online and North Swindon yoga and pilates classes could be just what you’re looking for.
From a physical fitness perspective, yoga and pilates can help you improve your strength, flexibility and alignment. This is a must for any fitness training plan. From a mind-fitness perspective, yoga with its focus on movement with the breath can particularly help you work through daily stressors and emotions, improving your mental focus. Pilates also has a mind-body element to it as the core-focused exercises are also carried out in line with the breath. Breath control is a useful tool for reducing stress so this makes both yoga and pilates great outlets for managing stress and coping with modern-day life.
Our yoga classes contain elements of the hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga disciplines (depending on the class) and our Pilates classes are based on the Michael King method with a fun, functional fitness twist! We also encourage a culture of non-judgement and zero ego in our classes. While challenging yourself is fantastic, everyone is on their own personal fitness journey. There’s nothing worse than walking into a stuffy studio and feeling like you’re being compared to everyone else, so you won’t find any of this in our classes, in person or online. If you’re a beginner, it’s also no problem as our classes are all mixed level. This means lots of options are offered throughout the class so you can work within your limitations, do what you can and make the class your own.
Music is also a big part of our classes; it’s a fantastic motivator, lifting you up when you’re down, speaking to you when you’re in need of answers and being with you when you just need to feel. We spend a lot of time curating the perfect playlists to share with you in class. Whether it’s a Pilates class with a party vibe or a Yoga class with a chilled vibe, you’ll hear lots of different styles of music to keep you inspired in class.
