Yoga Nidra means ‘yoga sleep’. It’s a deeply restorative yoga practice, and a very effective way to rest and recharge.
Unlike other types of yoga, in a Yoga Nidra session you’ll find a cosy spot to snuggle with your own pillow and blanket. Eye pillows can make the experience extra comfortable (we often have some of these for sale – just ask!) With your eyes closed, Nat will take you on a journey through the body and mind. There will also be some periods of silence. During your practice, you’ll turn your attention to different areas of your body and drift into a lovely meditative state from there. In fact, Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation; we like to call it ‘the ultimate relaxation experience.’
What are the benefits of Yoga Nidra?
As you might gather, Yoga Nidra isn’t like most yoga classes – it won’t give you a physical workout. However, it’s a deeply restful yoga practice and it’s great for mind fitness. We all lead such busy lives these days and it’s very easy to forget to take care of ourselves. This can lead to burnout, fatigue and increased levels of stress and anxiety.
Yoga Nidra helps us to stop, take stock and recharge. Our clients often report entering a blissful state between wakefulness and sleeping. However, if you’re feeling tired and frazzled, don’t be surprised if you drift off to sleep! That’s OK as it’s what your body needs at that moment. You’ll still be experiencing the benefits. Yoga Nidra is particularly known for reducing stress and anxiety and helping you sleep better.
Can anyone do Yoga Nidra?
Yes! However, if you’re currently dealing with mental health issues, seizure disorders or might be pregnant, it’s advisable to speak to us to make sure Yoga Nidra is suitable for you.
Why is Yoga Nidra for me?
If you’re constantly tired, stressed and anxious, try Yoga Nidra. Clients often report that it helps them throughout emotionally difficult times and we’ve even had musicians and athletes report that it has helped their creativity and performance respectively. We offer Yoga Nidra as part of our Hypno Yoga class or you can experience a private session of Yoga Nidra as part of a private yoga session in Swindon or online. We’ve also run Yoga Nidra meditation sessions at corporate events and the feedback from employees has been phenomenal.
Gift vouchers
Just as you might buy a loved one a gift voucher for a massage, we also offer gift vouchers for private yoga sessions. It’s a must try!
